Frequently Asked Question:
“What is the Flag City Line Dance Festival (FCLDF)?”
It is a new weekend-long line dance festival located in Findlay, Ohio. We are bringing in talented line dance instructors from all over the United States and Canada to teach beginner to advanced line dance courses. Some of our instructors include John Robinson, Dustin Betts, Debi Pancoast, Kerry Maus, Rachel Trim, and Jesse Eschbach.
“Where will the FCLDF be located?”
At present, the main location for paid instruction will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1050 Interstate Drive, Findlay, OH 45840.
Free and open to the public instruction will be held in downtown Findlay. We will provide locations as we get closer to the event.
“When will the FCLDF occur?”
For paid instruction, events will begin Thursday, March 26, 2026 in the evening at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn. Instruction will be hosted from 9a - 12p and 1p - 4p on Friday and Saturday, with evening dances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. A farewell dance will be included on Sunday morning (March 29) from 9a - 12p.
For free and open to the public, instruction will be offered in 30 minute increments from 9a - 11a and 1p - 3p. We will also host free dances for folks who would like to practice their newly learned moves on Friday and Saturday evening.
“Do I need dancing shoes?”
No. But suede does feel nice on a polished hardwood floor.
“If I do free and open to the public instructions, can I still participate in paid for instruction?”
Yes.
“How do I qualify for free and open to the public instruction?”
In order to qualify for free instruction, attendees must be residents of Hancock County, living in one of the communities around the City of Findlay, or be considered a low-income resident of the City of Findlay. Attendees will be required to self-identify in order to fulfill one of these two requirements.
“How much does the FCLDF cost?”
It depends on how much one wants to engage. Costs can range from $10 for an individual evening dance to $280 to cover the full weekend’s worth of events.
“What is the event’s theme?”
The inaugural FCLDF’s theme will be “Flags of the World.” Sure you can do red, white, and/or blue. But there are so many different flags around the world. What’s more, there are so many different ways to represent those different flags, countries, peoples, and cultures. We will have prizes for folks who participate in this theme of global inclusion and creativity. So bring your “A” game.
